I’ve long known the Day Tapes and Schofield Bible and allegations against King James Bible and a few others, and as such have not read any of these books despite increasing interest.
I used to be leftist and atheist for most of my life. Right now I’d say I’m open and agnostic yet have never felt “touched”. I believe those claim when and what it meant. I’ve uttered it any of the fast track to Christ or God things many claim are “all you need do” I will admit.
To me if god omniscient , which I’m in no position to dispute, I wonder why it is not enough to see my youthful disgust , scorn and disdain (especially of Christians -the first group I personally ) change to respect and feelings of deep shame for thinking effectively they were hostage to a mind virus. I used to for a short period envy the faith particularly the kind that Christian’s displayed but figured that wasn’t much better . So now i do my do my best with both silent or audible prayers from time to time with no expectations or demands , just simply thanks.
And hope one day I can feel / know God , especially since it’s so easy to see what done if not by, certainly in the name of Satan.

And don't forget to include a thorough study of Philosophy and the history of Philosophy!

Still reading through your thoughtful and robust response, thank you but as a quick aside I actually grew up atheist and didn’t go to any religious school or places .
My mothers dad was a GP and a devout Protestant (recently learned he was also a Freemason unfortunately but he was Scottish lol as is my mother ) he was perhaps the only devoutly religious , dads parents were Christian I think Protestant too I’ve never known him or my mother to talk much about religion and they did try to introduce me when in was young but would have none of it and grew up in early childhood with my family living very far from any other family so I was often on the outside looking in feeling lucky at friends who were constantly spending time in the catholic community but now I’m bit too sure .
All I’ve seen so far is Jordan Peterson presentations on Genesis and that’s the literal extent of my scriptural knowledge.
As for the salient advice of “go back to the root/ source “ I don’t find it crazy at all . The only things I’ve seemed to properly learn with any true discernible synthesis and command are when Idid exactly or as close to what you described albeit not quite as extensively so definitely true advice to promote a true understanding of a topic even if quite daunting!

My recommendation regarding the Bible is any contemporary translation. The King James Bible is daunting: It was completed in 1611 and deliberately written in what was then an archaic style of English.. and if you have the misfortune to get a "pronouncing" edition, it's a total eye-glazer / migraine fodder!
I went on a search for a contemporary English translation of the Talmud, I seem to have lost the link. I'm told the Soncino translation is the best.. here's the Rodkinson which is incomplete and the quality sucks.

Do you have any sources you can recommend for any religious books?
I’ve long known the Day Tapes and Schofield Bible and allegations against King James Bible and a few others, and as such have not read any of these books despite increasing interest.
I used to be leftist and atheist for most of my life. Right now I’d say I’m open and agnostic yet have never felt “touched”. I believe those claim when and what it meant. I’ve uttered it any of the fast track to Christ or God things many claim are “all you need do” I will admit.
To me if god omniscient , which I’m in no position to dispute, I wonder why it is not enough to see my youthful disgust , scorn and disdain (especially of Christians -the first group I personally ) change to respect and feelings of deep shame for thinking effectively they were hostage to a mind virus. I used to for a short period envy the faith particularly the kind that Christian’s displayed but figured that wasn’t much better . So now i do my do my best with both silent or audible prayers from time to time with no expectations or demands , just simply thanks.
And hope one day I can feel / know God , especially since it’s so easy to see what done if not by, certainly in the name of Satan.

It may sound a bit "off the wall" but it isn't, take the time learn about the history of The Occult and Ceremonial Magick, and you'd do well "as well", to learn about the mythology of all these cultures...
And don't forget to include a thorough study of Philosophy and the history of Philosophy!
All this will take you probably 10 - 15 years. By the time you're done, you may well still be some persuasion of Christian. You won't be a Mormon."

Still reading through your thoughtful and robust response, thank you but as a quick aside I actually grew up atheist and didn’t go to any religious school or places .
My mothers dad was a GP and a devout Protestant (recently learned he was also a Freemason unfortunately but he was Scottish lol as is my mother ) he was perhaps the only devoutly religious , dads parents were Christian I think Protestant too I’ve never known him or my mother to talk much about religion and they did try to introduce me when in was young but would have none of it and grew up in early childhood with my family living very far from any other family so I was often on the outside looking in feeling lucky at friends who were constantly spending time in the catholic community but now I’m bit too sure .
All I’ve seen so far is Jordan Peterson presentations on Genesis and that’s the literal extent of my scriptural knowledge.
As for the salient advice of “go back to the root/ source “ I don’t find it crazy at all . The only things I’ve seemed to properly learn with any true discernible synthesis and command are when Idid exactly or as close to what you described albeit not quite as extensively so definitely true advice to promote a true understanding of a topic even if quite daunting!
I have many Jewish friends who are good people so I can’t restack or anything and I wouldn’t say I’m sold per se, but as you put it the recent events events have put into stark relief some questions and you can’t even find evidence of being asked- ones that seemingly need to be asked .I don’t read you as hateful or as saying this represents any group as a whole either or at all as “all X group are bad” rather like the jesuits and the papacy there are some real bastards using a collective identity as a smokescreen to everyone’s express . And some are better than others .
Am I to understanding you don’t actually have any specific specific publications of the Bible and Talmud or that they might be best afterwards?

My recommendation regarding the Bible is any contemporary translation. The King James Bible is daunting: It was completed in 1611 and deliberately written in what was then an archaic style of English.. and if you have the misfortune to get a "pronouncing" edition, it's a total eye-glazer / migraine fodder!
I went on a search for a contemporary English translation of the Talmud, I seem to have lost the link. I'm told the Soncino translation is the best.. here's the Rodkinson which is incomplete and the quality sucks.

Curiously enough there's another ethnicity of whom if not all ethnicities, then certainly all Europeans, thoroughly detest... The Roma.. aka The Gypsies.. My English mother had some interesting stories to tell and the English would seem to share that detestation with their continental semi-relatives.. and it's odd, isn't it? How cultures as far apart as say.. The English, and the Bulgarians, could share exactly the same perception – for exactly the same reasons – about this ethnicity...

Ha. Yeah. The Gypsies were another people that I learned about during my stay in Hungary. The Hungarians call them cockroaches, and for good reason: Crime was their "job" - from petty theft to money-changing scams. I was approached by a family of Gypsies once while I was a tourist in Chile a few years ago- as well as in the country Georgia. Based on what I learned about them in Hungary, I was able to save myself from being pickpocketed by running the other way. No good can come from an interaction with a Gypsy.
My Mom (passed at the age of 90 in 2010) had exactly the same kinds of stories.🙄

I often think to myself, "If they killed the Kennedys and did 9/11, they wouldn't hesitate to try to ruin - or even kill - me."
