Performed sweetly and without a mask during the height of the Covid Fraudemic! (March 13, 2021) I’m going to track down a copy and see if I can do half as good a job on the Moeck “Rottenburgh” recorder I just ordered…🤔
Cheers!

PS, at 17:21, later that afternoon…
I discovered I indeed have a copy of the music..
It’s the “jig” 😘 from Bach’s 3rd violin partita! … and a lot of the range is outside what a recorder can actually handle; Guido has done some pretty artistic re-interpreting. It is however, within the range of the oboe d’amore — and I just happen to own one of those rare creatures.. Got about a month’s worth of wood-shedding ahead of me… 🤔
Above is “Lord Voldemort’s” oboe d’amore (it belonged to Valdemar Bhosys, the now departed but at one time oboist of the New York Ballet Orchestra) which I got in a trade for 2 oboes in my repair pile. Made in 1932, it’s 92 years old.. This picture was taken June 2, 2020; I’d just finished repadding it. How could it look so new after all those years?... Well... the oboe d’amore is useful for playing Bach’s cantatas... and the oboe d’amore solo from Ravel’s Bolero ... and that’s about it... Consequently and with the best of intentions these instruments don’t get used much. Pity: It’s one of the loveliest sounds in Western Music.
Wow what a beautiful piece and an amazing acoustic location! Would love to hear that there! Thank you.
Thanks for the beautiful gift!
